Hi everyone,
I just bought my first quad, it's a 1992 LT80 for my 6 year and 8 year old grandsons. It needs quite a bit of work, the previous owner didn't realize the oil injection pump quit working (or so he says) and toasted the top end. Luck for me his brother took it apart and lost the jug, piston and head...
I grew up on motorcycles (started ridding at 13, back in 1975 ) and just sold my most current one this fall.
I have been working on all different types of vehicles, however I am not versed on 2 strokes or quads!!!
I look forward to becoming a part of this forum and thank you in advance for your assistance, I know I will have plenty of questions and I hope I can offer some assistance!!

Welcome from Colorado: You're going to learn the ATV hobby from the inside out. It's great you have the mechanical skills to find parts and get this old ATV running again. I used to run go karts as a teenager and learned about two stroke engines. It's a great design, simple, lightweight and powerful. You will learn all about ports and reed valves.

There is quite a LT80 group here on these Forums. They will be happy to help you. Look under Brand Discussions, then Suzuki, and then look for interesting threads. See link below. Suzuki was one of the first manufacturers to offer ATVs on 4 wheels way back in the mid eighties.
