Kawasaki finds itself on the losing end of a Consumer Product Safety Commission's investigation into the safety of the Teryx from 2012-2016:

It sounds like Kawasaki needed to put better skid plates on these Teryx models. That would have been the best solution. I think most owners would have been quite open to getting free aftermarket skid plates. Could have easily avoided all this legal stuff by simply being more proactive. Though I know several people who have Teryx in this model year range who have had no problems. I'm sure you can destroy the floorboards in any utv if you hit something big enough and hard enough. In my area, the Teryx4 especially is quite popular.

I wonder if I slam my Dodge Ram hard enough onto a rock pile, I could damage the floor board, it doesn't have skid plates there, probably would only add 1,000 lbs or so. Wonder what they were doing to sustain a serious injury?

My 2010 needs a new skid plate in front which is just plastic.
