Overheating???
#2
I've been to the sand dunes 3 times and each time it was 100 F and sand is not easy terrain. My temperature warning light has never come on, but the radiator fan is always humming and it's on a thermostat so I think the engine was warm but not overheated. Based on what I've seen in the soft sand, there is no way you could overheat that thing on dirt unless the radiator was clogged with mud. Driving at top speed will actually cool the engine down, not heat it up cause you get a lot of air passing through the radiator. It's like a car, more likely to heat up in stop and go traffic than top speed.

I ride mud, and the fan runs a lot. In my case the radiator DOES get partially clogged, but I just go to a waterhole, or creek, and throw water at the raditor to clean it off and I'm good to go !
I BELIEVE that , in the owner's manual, they discuss the red "temp" light, saying that the lamp comes on BEFORE actual overheating occurs. That is a nice feature, in my case, I would start hunting a radiator cleaning area! Mine hasn't come on, either.
