700 prairie can't decide 2wd or 4wd
My buddy and i just bought 700 prairies about a month ago. We broke them in for 10 hour then changed our oil. around 110 miles his started switching from 2wd to 4wd on the LCD. it would switch from one to the other about every 3 seconds. he shut it off and disconnected the neg. battery cable and then reconnected. it quit. after a while it started again and he repeated the fix and it been doing it more often every time. now mine has started doing it. mine has done this twice. the 4wd doesn't kick in but that little whining sound of the ( i'm assuming ) actuator stops.
has anyone had this problen |

Mine did the same thing. When I would pull the engine brake fuse it would stop for a while and then start back up so I cleaned the fuse block and then pulled clutch cover and blew everthing out and has not done it since.

They are still in warrenty... take um in and then tell us what they find! LOL!! I disconnected the harness that goes to my engine brake so I can brake when I want,, not when the quad wants to,,,so mine flash's like that all the time any way.

Another thing that causes funny 4x4 shifting is when the rolling distance of the front tires is too long. The front tires need to rotate just a teeny bit faster that the rear tires in order for the shift-sense-wait programming of the KEBC controller to actually get the 4x4 actuator engaged successfully.
Try pumping up the rear tires a little, or airing down the front ones just a touch. Sometimes the actuators aren't sealed well and water messes up the position sensor and the KEBC controller can't deal with the 4x4 actuator properly after that. Mine won't shift when climbing a steep enough hill due to tire slippage. I have to shift in ahead of the hill. |
