Default V-Force Question

Very satisified here. Neutral light did quit functioning, no big deal...... dealer ordered new indicator panel under warranty.

Default V-Force Question

Eventually I think everyone will need to do something about the flimsy tie rods, but everything else is great. No problems on tight trails.

Default V-Force Question

I havn't had much seat time on my V this summer (Little League baseball and Pop Warner Football to it all up) but tell me , has the automatic transmission caused any trouble decenting down steep hills, I understand "blimpin" the throttle engages the tranny but does it stay engaged? What keeps you from " freewheelin" down the hill? Putt

Yes tapping the throttle will keep it engaged but you have to keep doing it otherwise it will freewheel, just tapping it once doesn't engage it all the way down a steep hill. The more you have to tap the throttle also depends on how aggressive your primary spring is

Default V-Force Question

Sounds kinda scary, I'm still running the stock primary spring, does this mean it stays engaged longer? more rider friendly going down hills? reason being, I was thinking about going to the pink spring. Putt

Default V-Force Question

Putt ......... I did not notice a big difference in the down hill resistance with the pink spring. The down hill coast is no different than the P650 I owned. After awhile it just be comes natual to hold the engine a little above idle when going down steep hills, and all is well.

Default V-Force Question

I devoloped a little "blip the throttle" habit, when on downhills, to keep the clutches engaged and holding the bike back.
I would have to disagree with V0Forcer. IMO there is VERY little engine braking with the V-Force, as compared to my 2 Prairies(650&700).
To answer your question Putt, the Pink spring will raise the stall speed. Your clutch will engage at a higher RPM(about 350rpm), but will pull right up to upper mid-range, IMO. That is the way I perceived it, anyway. Good all round spring, that doesnt make the primary clutch engage harshly, and jar your filings loose!!!!!!LOL
