Default Progressive springs for P700? Not on ebay....

I don't remember enough slop for me to have been worried about it.

Coming from a snowmobile background where the combo front shock have small springs in the 300 lbs range combined with an 100 or a 120 and hold up just fine. The force on these adjusters are minimal with a 60 lb spring comparatively. A standard spring on the front of my hill climb sled are 120/160 progressive with an AL adjuster so I would not worry about it. I have blown all the internals out of a bunch of shocks and never hurt an adjustment ring.

My progressive kit had some slop but still had plenty resting on the steel should of the strut.

I'm an idiot.

My dealer's tech was thinking (and I went with what he thought, wrongly) that the spring adjuster located on the BODY of the strut. It does not according to the IILUSTRATION....it locates on the cast piece that fastens the lower end of the strut, where lo and behold, it fits reasonably well. I've never used pseudo coil-overs, so I had no idea what he was talking about.....live and learn.

Whew. And to think I almost had to live with the stock springs.

Sorry to waste everyone's time.

Jeeeez.

I got the Progressive springs installed. It was a snap......just don't use the illustration.
The adjustable spring perches locate on the original strut body; they are held in place by both the strut tangs and the set screws on the new adjuster. Thanks for all the help, ya'll!

The only thing the set screw does is it keeps the collar from spinning around when you adjust the upper threaded portion. The whole thing sets on a flange on the strut.
There is no force put on the set screw as the spring is compressed. I am real happy with the kit, cornering is better, and helps with the wieght of the plow too. I would
rate them 95 out of 100. .....Had to knock 5% for pinching my finger when I installed them...LOL!
