Frozen Brakes??

Is there any way to keep your Brakes from freezing up? I have a 02 650 and every time I go for a ride now when its cold and crossing some puddles, the back brakes freeze up first.. and I have to go behind bike and tap on rear lever to release them.. So I stop using rear then front freeze up gradualy until I can barely squeeze the brake? I sprayed silicone lube on levers and even rust check.. Would the cable be sticking? I'm afraid that the rear might stick on a bit and wear my rear brake out? Any suggestions? Thanks..

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR BRAKE CABLES HAS MOISTURE IN THEM YOU OUGHT TO BUY YOURSELF A CABLE LUBER AND A CAN OF CABLE LUBE AT YOUR LOCAL BIKE SHOP. UNHOOK YOUR CABLE AT THE HANDLE BARS AND HOOK THE CABLE LUBER ON YOUR CABLE AND INSERT THE NOSSLE OF THE CABLE LUBE CAN IN THE CABLE LUBRICATORS HOLE AND SPRAY UNTIL THE LUBE RUNS OUT OF THE END OF THE CABLE. ALSO DO YOUR FOOT BRAKE CABLE THIS SHOULD HELP YOU OUT.. SKUN

They same thing has been happening on my recently and its not the cables, they move freely. Its the brake itself back there. I think it just gets some water and freezes, I'll have to start carrying a hammer.

Frozen Brakes??

Thanks for all the responses guys.. I'll try lubing the cables for the rear because I think the front are Hydraulic?? Anti freeze may work also.. I use it on door rubbers so that they don't stick when opening a car door on a cold day.. I don't really like using a hammer .. just in case I bend something.. Somethings got to work.. !!Thanks again..

P.S. Merry X-mas to everyone!!!!
