Seems like there were several guys on here who ran them on big utility 4x4s until the ATR's came out. Then most of them switched to the radials. I've wondered about them too found them for some good prices on several sites.

From what I know, and not by personal experience, the all tracks are a bias or 2 ply rated tire. They gotta be a smooth riding tire. I hear they hook up well. If not for the ATR's I would have tried them. Comfort is my need and I'm 50 so I don't go around trying to put myself in the hospital jumping and taking bad odds gambles. I like technical, hill climbing trails and tossing the rear end around on fast trails. I also hear you can reverse them.
The ATR's aren't too bad riding for a 6 ply being a radial and all. I run them. No bump steer and awesome hook up in all sorts of conditions. I loath soupy mud and will avoid it at all costs, so I don't care about what they may lack there.
You will hear reports of the ATR's being puncture prone but I believe it may be isolated cases. There are 5 of us running ATRs', 3 P650s' a Rincon and a Kodiak, and no problems yet. We ride Tellico, WinRock and many other places.
I believe the AllTrak's are a good tire for the $$$$ and they do have a good reputation.
As for puncture protection, don't waste your time with slime unless you overdose the tires with 3 times the recommended amount. I have seen tires broken down off the rims at a tire shop that had slime and what a joke. The best in the business is http://www.multi-seal.com/. You put a quart in and forget about any problems.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info- this won't be for a 4x4 or anything big- a 2000 Mojave really, I plan on doing mostly track and trail riding. I got some tires with a mojave parts quad I got my hands on, Cheng Shin 828s- a Chevron type design, they wear like iron but grab wayy too much for a loamy track- and thru some mud I hat to row the gear box like I never thought I would ever have to. I'm eye- balling some Kenda dominators- I hear they last a long time due to the hard compound- although similia to Holeshots and Shredders- they're not quite as well performing, but for $44 what could you want? And this is a little 250 we're talking about here, anhow. Again- thank you for your comments...............

I race hare scrambles during the summer months... alot of racers I've known of have switched back from the ATR's to the All Traks... even though they are listed as a 2 ply tire, they are much much tougher than most stock 2 ply tires, they ride really smooth, handle great... however the 25" tires run a short 24" O.D.

THanks for you alls input- i've gone ahead and went with the Kenda Dominators- I've read stuff about'em and although they slide more in turns than say the Maxxis Razors or ITP holeshots they last longer because of their harder rubber compound, which is a tradseoff I can live with. I got then for $43.99 ea. from rocky mountain atv.
