I just put the ricochet plates .. Their great and I'm one who over engineers things ..I give them 110% .
I desided to work on the 700 prairie instead of going out chasing woman tonite ... I'm still young but I just got the 700 and I'm ready for the snow ..
My question is about under the foot tread plates , here gose the over engineering . I was thinking of making little skid plates that go under them way the whole bottom is plated .
Has any one done this..??
Thanks

Your new skid plates are to keep rocks, roots, from grabbing and pulling on lower cases, mounts. They cover the most vulnerable parts not already protected and redistribute force to the chassis strong points, right?
I don't see how mounting a plate over the foot plates would add any protection. I agree with you, it's probably overkill to fab and install these plates.

I think its not worth making skid plates to go under the floorboard area (like Kawiyowee said, there's nothing to protect there). Also, you might lose a little ground clearance by doing this.
