I haven't been told by my Kaw rep that this was 100% positive info, but he did say that the chances are very likely considering that Kawasaki let them have a Suzuki version of it's P700 for 2004.
The quad in question here is the 2005 Suzuki KingQuad. 750cc EFI and not a Kawasaki built product. |

For what its worth, I read somewhere that the 2005 King Quad (equipped with IRS) is supposed to be a 700cc EFI motor (a 1 banger). That would be great if its actually a 750cc.
Happy trails... |

I have heard both and when i asked our Suz rep about it, he said that talk amongst the reps was that the KQ will be a 750 because they plan to keep the Twin Peaks and they don't look to have two 700 models in the lineup. I will take his word over the magazine anyday, but both are word of mouth, as is this discussion as well.
Until Suzuki announces it officially 3 months from now, we will have to wait. If this rumored Kaw is indeed different from the Suz, then they have opened the door for another battle of displacement war. Great times. |

atv's won't get over 800cc. if they do they are goverened by different laws and considered OHV's. they need to be titled, licenesed, insured, etc.........
please don't make the prairie IRS........FI and more cc's, maybe a manual ok....but I wouldn't buy an irs. |
Bigger's just around the corner
I know at the 2004 Suzuki dealer meeting in Vegas they made a point to mention that the deal with Kaw was to fill in the line up until Suzuki built models were available. The new fuelie big bore quad and a couple of new cruisers (bikes)

cartman308,
Considered OHV or not, Yamaha's A1 project is still in the works from what I have been told. By the way, most states require titleing of ATVs anyway. |

Cartman,
What specific law are you referring to that gives an 800cc ATV a special status requiring different requirements for registration, etc? I have never heard of such and am only asking b/c that is news to me. BTW, why is it that snowmobiles are more than 800ccs and ATVs are not yet? I assume its only a matter of time before we see 1000cc quads...sounds good to me, but I'm not sure I want my kids riding on those! Happy trails... |

According to Minnesota law...looked through the ohv/atv/ohm law book and it states that a it is considered an atv if it is UNDER 800 cc's AND under 850 lbs (I think but could possibly be 800)

From anyone who has ever seen me post against the P700, I will definately say one thing........If they make the P750 EFI and IRS, my grizz will be sold THAT DAY!!!! I'd absolutely LOVE to have one! |

A-1 is steaksauce LOL

I heard that Kawi was coming out with a 500 single with IRS and leaving everything else SRA. They need to make a model with IRS for the more Utility feel and the same cc motor except with the SRA. That way people could choose whitch one was best for their riding style.

I love the sport in my P650 but would not mind IRS if it was like the trailing arm system that the Bombardier Outlander has.
That is if it works as good as it looks like it should. (Haven't tried one yet.) If bigger is faster without much more weight bring it on. |

TelicoGrizz,
Have you thought about installing a turbo on your Grizz I may be working with a company to manufacture an all purpose turbo for the Grizz and Raptor? |
