Default 650p- jets,plugs,air questions

i got a couple questions. 02 650p with napa hose, modded muffler,142f-145r jets. i checked my plugs and they were light tan. o.e.m. book says the pilot screws should be 2- 1/2 turns out i know this is a starting place. i checked my pilots and found the front was 1-1/2 turns, rear was 3 turns out. i have lag on the bottom end. elevation is 800 to 1200 feet.

1. should i go up one size jet?
2. should and how far should i turn the pilots?
3. should i move my needle?

sounds like it's running to lean. I have found that if you open the airbox to much the eng will run too lean and the bottom end hesitates. I noticed on mine if you take the airbox top cover off, it runs like crap. I also have the same jet sizes. My pilot screws are 3 1/2 turns out.

Turn both pilot screws out 3 1/2 turns and see if that helps.
