Holeshot ATR's on a P-700??
 

I'm looking for some input on the ITP Holeshot ATR tires. I am debating between these and the mudlites. I've had mudlites on my Grizzly (traded in on my new p700) and liked them but I think the ATR's might be better suited to me. I mostly trail ride and hunt, however do dive into some wicked mudholes from time to time. Any input on the Atr's vs Mudlites would be appreciated. Well, if it were me and I did the serious mud hole competition thing it would be MudLites or better. I have ATR's and love them. They have a 26" now.

I swear, those ATRs were DESIGNED for the big Prairies!(or so it would seem). These tires are EXTREMELY versatile. I have runs 2 sets ,now. They are NOT for serious mudding, though. Any other conditions, and they kick-@$$!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worth every penny....................................

WAY better than stock. They are not the tire to do mud drags, or mud pits with, that's all. I you are gonna do fast trail riding , most anywhere in the midwest, this IS the tire for you!!!!!

They are worse than the stockers in mud. Anyone saying otherwise must not have real mud [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] Those guys up at hatfield mccoy said they had real mud and I sure didnt' see any. Maybe we get spoiled living in south florida compared to some places, but we regularly ride in mud/water thats rack deep. I have atr's on my prairie, and down there, they are absolutely worthless. I'd get stuck every 5 feet, literally. I finally got a set of Outlaws and now rip thru there like a swamp buggy, hardly spinning the tires. The difference is night and day - use the right tool for the job. Atr's are great high speed/trail/dry conditions tires - that is if you can get past ITP's awful quality control issues. I have enjoyed mine for their specific purpose. They are awesome tires in their element. If I couldn't have two sets of tires for both extremes, I would get somewhat of a compromise tire - like 26" Dirt Devils. 700Hemi - just the pure fact you mention 'serious mudholes' rules out the atr's in my opinion. LightMan--- I am here for you, if you care to give/throw away those "worthless ATRs".........
I run the ridges, and high trails in the Appalachian mountains. Fast trail riding is my favorite activity. I stay out of those "wet spots" in the trails. I have run 2 sets now, and willl buy more, though, I WOULD like to try the Maxxis Bighorns, too. The ATRs fit MY style of riding to a "T". I am no mudder.

Mayby I'll stick with the mudights. Any problems with 27's on the prairie or should i stick to 26's

700Hemi--- I had heard(do not know for a fact) that the big Prairies will rip the lugs off the Mudlites. You may want to research them a little.................................

I like the 26's I have as far as a good all around tire with decent mudding ability. I have not ripped any lugs off yet but I have been running in 4wd even when not really needed because I am wearing the rears down rather quickly from all the spinning they do in 2wd[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I've ridden with trx450, there is mud where he rides and lots of it. He just prefers to go around where I try to go through sometimes with success [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img] and others..........
