I was checking my plugs and noticed it appears I'm running a little rich....but instead of goin down in size for my jets I was thinking.."hey what if I increase my airflow to compensate?".. I've already got the K&N filter...so I just popped off the airbox lid and took it for a test drive.

Wow, that helped quite a bit...my airbox is completely stock so taking off the lid really gives it more air. The bike didn't even sound the same anymore...it was much louder and sharper sounding.... It really seemed to rev faster too.... I'm waiting for my engine to cool and then I'm going to check the plugs....if they are not white I'm leaving it like that...and I'm going to try it out this weekend at the races... Thats good. I remember mine wouldnt even run with the 20 or so 1/2" holes I had in my airbox lid with the 142/145 jet combo. It would run but it would pop and crack. I will soon have my 03 style airbox for my 02 P650.

 

I'll know more after this weekend, you're not the only one who had a bad experience with too much air....

We'll see what happens on the dunes.
