I think Yamahas wolverine is a real nice sport utility. Its a 350 though(good power for a 350). And with the warn 2x4 select system, you can have 2x4 or 4x4. The new kodiak 450 is also a nice quad and now has independent suspension all around. As for the eiger, i have never ridden one and dont know a whole lot about it.
Have you looked at the vinson?

look at the kodiak 400...the wolverine is as gutless a ride youll ever find..it needs to be a 500 or it 'aint squat'..i sold mine after a month because it just doesnt have any *****..the kodiak 400 jumps and has alot more power..the kodiak 450 has a lot more bells and whistles and is alot more expensive..i guess if you weigh 100 pounds soaking wet with your boots on the wolv' would be ok..myself at a gracious 190 will tell you..gutless pig..

The Bombardier Outlander 400 is the fastest in it's class, and I've seen posts on the Bomb forum that they jump really well. It has the most plush seat of any atv I've ever sat on, and it won ATV of the year at least once.

I watched a Bomb 400 take our ATV obstacle race last week; he had All-tracs on it and couldn't be touched, I finished 4th. A different Outlander took it's class in the ATV pull. I'm sold on the Outlander as the best 400cc machine.

That's why I'm getting the Outlander for my wife, that is, as soon as child support stops coming out of my check, in October!

well i really like the eiger because i know they are great in mud and are faster than a kodiak and it is cheaper than all the other 400cc and i know it won't be to big for me. i worried if i go with a vinny it would be to big and i flip would crush me. i think it would be to tippy for me and i will get a bigger one in a few years. eiger top speed is like 55 and that is fine with me but i want some other opinions. suzuki is very reliabile also.

My friend has an eiger and it is a very good machine. They have pretty good power and go through mud very well. As far as jumping, I don't know about, it is more utility based and I've never seen one jumped. The wolverine jumps very well and is faster than the eiger and the kodiak 400, but isn't really a work horse if you plan on using it for that. Like tmaxx said, you can get a 424 select to have selectable 2wd/4wd. Both are great machines though, as well as the kodiak.

well,i dont know if the 'rine is faster than the kodiak but ill tell you the kodiak will eat the wolverine alive in the mud and pulls..it has very little torque...the 400 will pull the rine around by its *** all day long and the kodiak jumps very well...i dont know anything about the eigers but do know that suzuki is just about at the top of the food chain as far as quality goes..

Anything to do with trail riding, jumping, or riding fast and the wolverine is better than the kodiak. The kodiak is no doubt a better workhorse, but as far as agility, light weight, and great suspension the wolverine is way better, and would win every time in a drag race.
