Default Dyna cdi vs H/L module

which one makes the most power? Does the dyna have features on it that the H/L module doesn't. I going to buy a module for my BF and would appreciate any info.

ill say again..the dg3 is a great product..when put head to head with the dyna I get beat but only but a whisker..and i win alot more than i lose..ive no experiance with the HL module but Im biased towards diamond G any how..Hilifter thinks too highly of themselves and thinks there stuff should be priced accordingly..the only thing I like about the dyna is the higher rev line..but we have yet to find it and I never find mine even at 8400...

Default Dyna cdi vs H/L module

Hi Metallikev,

Do these modules really make a significant difference? When I purchase my Prairie 700 this fall, I would like to purchase one, but only if it gives the machine more low - mid range power, or does it give the machine all around power?

Thank you for you answers.

heyas Bear..OMG yes..the lowend is unbelievable..instant low-mid range punch with no lag..night and day difference..well worth the money spent with very little hassle on the install..biggest bang for the buck you can get..plug -n- rip...im now ble to punch it and the front end comes right off the ground...

I like my Dyna!. I am 6' 2" and weigh 250 and have a WARN 3.0ci winch up front and it just would not pull the front up untill I put the Dyna in. The fans hardly run compared to when the stock CDI is in.

Just do a search, this topic has been beaten to death, ressurected, and beaten down again! It all depends on your riding area IMO. Going full bore all the time? Get the Dyna. Working the trails and the woods? Get a module.

Metallikev,

You recommend the DG3 module? Where can you purchase this module and what is the approximate price for one?

Thank you,

P.S. How far do you live from Troy? Troy is about a 2 1/2 hour ride from where I am in Connecticut. When I get my machine, maybe we can hook up sometime. I have a friend who is dying to see new trails!

I rode with Adirondak man last weekend he has the cdi I have the H/L module the results from our racing on pavement is that the power diffrence between the 2 are very small I weigh over 130 pounds more then him . with him driving my machine he goes by me low end mid I catch up and top end he wins by about a bike lentgh, swap bikes he is on his dyna bike I am on mine same result we both are jetted the same and same air filter nyroc muff mod the bikes are almost identical we came up that the biggest diffrence is weight as far as performance. what ever you buy you will be very happy with the cdi gets rid of the override button but that can be fixed. have not rode with anyone with the dg3 but I am sure you would be very pleased with it it is a great company as is the other 2

.correct me if Im wrong Rub..but you did a bunch of internal motor mods that warrented your buying the dyna.the average joe isnt going to be recamming there ride..head to head with an identical 03 me with dg3 and him with dyna there is very, very, little dif.in performance..little enough that i decided that the 100 dollar savings was worth it..the dyna is 250 or so the dg3 is 140..dont get me wrong,i like the dyna..alot..i just didnt feel it was worth an extra 100 clams..that is MHO.....alot of big deal is made of the "p-N-p" of the dyna..well,the dg3 takes about as long..anyone with 4 T-wire clamps and about 2 minutes of time is good to go...it also can be wired up with an override to disable its function if the wife gets on for a turn(why would you want to bother????? lol)..and if the dg fails 20 miles from nowhere..it just stops working and the bike returns to normal operation..the dyna quits and you best have the stocker on hand unless you like to walk(or be towed)..very rare occasions yes but just another factor....we are all fiercly loyal to our products and would argue the moon is made of cheese if it served us..bottom line is they all do what they claim...and I wanted to keep a few bux in my pocket...go with what your gut and you wont be disappointed...

Ironbear..Im about 3 hours or so from albany..but I dont know any places out that way to ride unless its Trailpass lands...50 bux for the pass and they have 2 area out there,1 in lake george and the other in utica ...im working on a job that is going to require me being on the rode for a few days a week..my riding time might just come to a halt(YIKES)..but i seriously need a job...
