Default Tanny Oil Change

Hey guys,

Got a question about my 04 STP 700. I ride alot of water so I'm pretty religous about changing the oil in the front and rear end but was wondering about the sub transmission. Obviously, over and above the regular belt maintenance there has to be a gear case with oil in it for the high and low range gears right? Does anybody ever change the oil in that? Reason I'm asking is that right or wrong I was talking to my buddy with an 04 AC 500 man and he said it takes him four litres of oil to do a change. That's quite a bit up from the two or so in my bike and he said that it was that much because it also changed the oil in the transmission... Which is what sparked my question.

Thanks all, ADAM

Sorry for the mis-spelling of the topic title... Don't know if I can edit it.

Kind funny,

Don't know if you know the area well but I live in St. Louis, so cross country to Macdowall is only like 12 or 13 miles. I don't ride in the Nesbitt a whole lot but we do take off from my house and kinda edge our way up through the back of the forest coming in from the east. Actually I was kinda thinking about getting the guys together together and going for a romp close to home and was talking about tearing around out there on the labour day long weekend a week from now.

As far as where else I ride - everywhere... Besnard Lake, Candle Lake, Weyakin, Little Bear (all north), just north of P.A. in the forestry reserve (between spruce home and P.A.), lots of time following the river seeing as I live a mile from it - the list keeps going on!

By the way, since it's such a large place (little bit of sarcasm) - who are the inlaws?

Raymond & Mirram Wall, Raymond is the Reeve for the RM of Duck Lake. Their farm backs the forest preserve and Carlton Trail.

If your looking for another rider for Sept long weekend, I could make the trip no problem. I live in Regina so I will drive the night before and crash at the inlaws.

Let me know

PM me your e-amil address and I'll let you know my plans - sometimes it's a pain in the *** getting all the friends together for the weekend - but I'll give it a shot...

I actually live and work in Saskatoon - my parents have a farm in St. Louis and that is where i keep my baby - needless to say I haven't even sat on it in two weeks and I'm itching.

It'll be kinda nice to really show up the guys with two of us there, cause i gotta say I love my quad quad, I ride with a KFX700, traxter, couple of foremans, AC 500, Outlander and none of them hold a candle up to this thing...

But that's my opinion of course!
