can i get a CDI for my kodiak??

 

When I installed my Dyna CDI I noticed right away that the machine was idling faster, so I cranked it down to where it sounded normal. It does seem to start easier than before too although even before the Dyna it started easier than what my Vforce did.

I haven’t had mine up to top speed yet so I can’t make a comparison there. It does seem to be stronger now as it wheelies easier than before. However it also seems like the Brute has been getting a little stronger each time I rode it as it gets more broken in.

I have not experienced a “miss” with mine either (before or after the Dynatech addition) although it does seem to sound a little bit different now at lower RPMs (a slightly “meaner” sound to the exhaust note). I probably should pull the plugs to see if there is a too lean or too rich condition to see if rejetting is required.

After putting in the Dyna CDI I drag raced a piped and jetted Z400 and beat him two out of two times. What I should have done is also try racing him with the stock CDI in to see if there was any difference. This is what I’ll do the next time he comes over (although the next time he will have a Dynatek CDI in his machine too!).

Kawasakirules, Dynatek does have CDI’s for some Yamahas, but not the Kodiak....

 

so then whats the best mod i can put on it for the most low end power??

 

Kawasakirules – the biggest bang for your buck will probably be a performance exhaust along with the jetting and airflow changes to go along with it. Personally I won’t put one on because I don’t want the increased noise level (that’s why I go out and buy the big machines to start with). I rode my friend's Z400 when it was stock and after it was piped and jetted, and the difference in power was very significant (more noticeable than what the Dyna CDI did for me), it was like a completely different machine...
