Default BF 650 or P 700

I need some help guys. I'm currently riding a Honda, but have become addicted to V-Twin power after a big ride this weekend.

I am between a BF 650 or a Prairie 700. I am getting one, but which one?

I can't find much difference between the two other than the 64 cc's and the plastic. I really like the looks of the 05 BF 650.

My main concern is this: Is the extra displacement worth the extra $500?
Are there plenty of mods for both models?

What's everyone's thought on these two bikes and which would you suggest? Also what price is everyone getting on these bikes?

Thanks.

I know what you mean by the V-Twin addiction. Welcome to the club LOL!!!

I'd get the BF 650 and take the extra $500 and buy a CDI and a few other goodies. (Clutch Kit, Bumpers etc....) The CDI should give you at least the same amount of performance as a Prairie 700, if not a bit faster.

I currently own a Prairie 650, and I'm planning on getting a Brute Force 650 soon.

You answered your own question. You said you really like the looks of the BF650.

I love my Prairie, but the BF650 looks like a great machine too....Worth the extra 500 bucks? .....I doubt it. I would almost bet you the BF650 and the P700 could not loose each other in a spririted run thru the trails....

But then again, you have to wonder what Kawasaki will bring to the table next year.... Kawasaki is on a tremendous run of excellent machines right now..... something tells me they are not done yet....rumours of a new 450 on the way.....and there seems to be a big whole in their lineup.....it's a long way from their 360 up to 650....I think they will eventually up the BF650 to a 750....cause more definately is waaaaaay better.

I don't know what your riding now, and what kind of shape it's in,.......but the thought of 750 or 800+ solid rear axle machine maybe in a year or two,...is a wicked thought, just as my Prairie is paid for......my wife would kill me....but then again she like the P700 too....

Spend the extra 500 bucks on the camo BF650, and don't look back......If you can't stand the thought of something better coming out later....my advise would be drink heavily!

Bigreub,

Yes, there's TONS of aftermarket stuff available for both the BF650 and P700. Go to Nyroc's website at http://atv.dnsalias.com to read LOTS of info on maintenance and upgrades available for the Prairie. This is a great site and used often by Prairie/BF owners.

I currently own the P650 (which is essentially the same as the BF650, but with different plastics) and I personally would choose the 2005 P700 Team Green Edition if I were looking to buy a new quad right now. But that is just me and if money is a big criteria, then the BF650 is also an excellent choice. That being said, I have my fingers crossed that Kaw. will come out with a bigger/better SRA quad this summer or next summer (perhaps a 750cc Prairie with EFI!...that would be cool).

Happy trails...

Between the BF650 and the P700- the looks won't help much when you're getting mopped by your buddies on their 700's while you're on your BF650...

My opinion, buy the BF650 and use that extra money for tires.

I wouldn't be so over confident about that. I mopped the floor with my BF650 against my dad and bros 700's. This machine is more of a 700 in Brute plastic than the 650. I run all day with the 700's and love the Brute Force. I would take the Brute Force and add some simple mods with the money saved and you've got one awesome machine.

I think he was referring to a 750 SRA. I sure hope so.
