kfx 400 prpeg nerfs?

kfx 400 prpeg nerfs?
Just bough a set of AC propeg nerfs for my kfx400. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to keep the oil lines from rubbing on the bars? I know the directions say to usew tire rubber, but I'm just not sure how long that will last.
