Default V2 650 Oil Level Question

I just changed the oil the AC handbook states 1.85 quarts. I put in 2 quarts and the oil just makes it to the min level. Is this just another error in Arctic’s manual.

Thanks for the feedback

Shonk

Ps I did all the right things

You'll know if the extra oil ends up in your airbox. The Kawi 650 engine is a heavy breather and most kawi owners fill it a little past half full mark.

Are you screwing the dip stick in all the way when checking the oil? Checking the oil on the v-twin is different from some other quads that have you just rest the dipstick at the top of the oil tube. If you not screwing the stick in all the way, it will show very little, if any, oil on it.

Not sure about the '05 (Probably they screwed up the manual too), but on my '04, it took almost 2.5 quarts to get it right (With the oil and filter change). Manual said 1.85, manual was dead wrong......

Roger that (manual error) 2.25 Qts. takes it in the middle.

AC needs to hirer a Tec writer or fire the one they have.

Default V2 650 Oil Level Question

I'm pretty disappointed with my '04 AC650 manual. 99% of it is how to ride, and 1% of it is tech info (which, some is wrong!)

I can honestly say, if I'm stuck in the bush and something goes wrong, popping the seat off to flip through the manual to "learn" how to ride is going to do diddly squat.

They should hire the tech guy's from Honda, all Honda manuals I've seen in the past go into great detail about everything. I guess cat really wants us to support their dealer network!
