Default Has anyone snorkeled their Brute?

I have been thinking about snorkeling my Brute Force 750 for a while due to the air box design and the fact that I do go in deep water sometimes and I would like to be better safe than sorry. I would like to hear from those of you that have snorkeled your Brute about your set-up and if/what you jetted with, and if you like how your bike runs with it on. Thanks for any replies.

I snorkeld mine over the weekend, because of a lack of anything else to do lol ... built mine out of 2" abs for the airbox, and 1 1/2 for cvt intake and exaust. I could probably have used a 1 1/2 on the airbox also, as that it was running lean so I had to put a 45* 1 1/2" street elbow inside my snorkel to richen it up. but I've got it pretty well right on. used a 3" to 2" rubber reducer on the belt and a 2" rubber 90 on the airbox... then all abs from there

Hey Bob, you didn't have to rejet did you? It is the only thing holding me back from snorkling mine. I ride with friends that have sport bikes and their bikes always cut out on them, especially when riding in the mountains. BTW nice homemade skid plates!

no I didnt have to rejet, it was running a little lean and I put a 1 1/2" 45* street elbow inside my 2" intake and it fixed it and thanks took alot of work to build the skids, but much cheaper than buying them took to nights to build them

I have had deep water snorks on my prairie since 03, and it's only recently that anyone knew what the heck they were...mostly due to all the televised highlifter mud nationals etc., and the pre-fabbed kits that are now being sold as a result of that popularity/publicity.

Up until recently, the most common thing you'd hear (granted I lived in the south at the time) was 'what the hell are them paaapes (pipes)'? it's become pretty funny around my friends/riding buddies. Even still, I was at hatfield mccoy a few weekends ago, every time I turn the corner, people drop their jaw and stare. We just yell THEM PAAAAPES as we ride by and laugh...
