Default HEADS UP - BF750 recall related

My friend's BF750 has not had the recall parts for the front end installed - same as most of us - parts are not available, etc.
His quad has just over 20 hours on it, and his A-arm failed yesterday. I wasn't there for it, but he did wreck. He said he didn't get banged up too bad, and it could have been much worse. The scary thing is it happened on a stretch where speeds of 60mph + are possible. He just wasn't going that fast.

He and I continued to ride, since the impressions from here were that the failures were from many more hours than what he has on his quad, and (assumed) we could ride them since they are low hour machines.

Per the recall notice - DO NOT RIDE until that recall is done - regardless of the hours on your machine. I wish I could call Kawasaki and tell them I'm not making any more payments until the recall is done. I know that won't get me anywhere - except a repo man at my door.

Be safe.

You might want to check out other dealers. My dealer had the parts in stock and I believe they had a few kits. I took it in after asking if mine was affected and got it back a week later.

I didn't think the back of a 750 was recalled? Those are awfull picts... thank god no one was hurt. I also believe something more than a Arm letting go a and some rolls happened here. Look at Picture 11 and the rear tire... that's not normal for a tire to spit that way.

rpxr400.
I had my Brute serviced in Feb. I took it to NorthAmerican Warhorse in Scranton. They have all the parts in for the recall. One thing you will notice after the replacement rods are installed is that the turning diameter is increased. Looks like the kit includes larger bump stops which limits how far you can crank the bars. It's hardly noticable on the trail, just when you have to turn around in a tight spot.

Kawi650,

Those pics are from another friend's quad. Those specific pics are from a "mishap" he had when climbing a hill. He got off the quad, and we watched it tumble down. It probably rolled 20+ times. He didn't have insurance, and the dealer said if he had insurance, they would have totalled it. It cost him $5k out of pocket. He hadn't made a payment on it before it rolled. He was ok.
