please don't laugh
i have a bayou 220 it is red and gray, i dont own it, it belongs to my wifes cousin. anyway the choke plunger is stuck in the carb will not move up or down any suggestions, also can't find the vin number to find out what year it is any help thanks.

Probably some kind of corrosion has formed in the choke plunger/bore area. Remove the choke plunger/cable from the top of the carb and clean out the corrosion. Use a fine wool cloth or similar stuff to wipe off the surface of the plunger and the bore. Make sure you do following to prevent future failure:
1). Rubber boot must be sealed up completely on top of the choke plunger. 2). O-ring must be in a good shape. 3). Stretch the spring a bit to regain the tension. Better yet, you may install a stronger spring (higher K value) with the same dia if you can find it. 4). Spray some WD-40 into the plunger bore. Good Luck. |
