2001 Lakota Sport Runs Hot
I have a 2001 Lakota Sport that I bought from a friend. It ran great for a few years. I let it set up for a year or so with gas in the carb. (My bad, I know). It has ran like crap ever since. The engine gets so hot, the exhaust at the head gets cherry red and actually melts the mud flap on the right front. It won't idle until it gets hot. It spits back through the carb like it is out of time. It actually runs and performs great once it warms up until it gets really hot.
Any suggestions where to start? Thanks.

2001 Lakota Sport Runs Hot
I cleaned it once, right after I had let it set up for too long.
I will clean it again. I was not sure if that would cause it to run hot.
I may have to clean it a few times?
I would like to buy a repair manual for it.
I am sure there are a few things that need to be done.
The only ones I see availablile are for the 1995 - 1999 models.
Do you know where I can get one for the 2001 Lakota Sport?
Thanks for your help.
