Kawi 360 Q'S

Hey what kind of problems have you guys had with your 360? Im looking to buy a new quad and its between a 360 and a Polaris 450. Thanks!

Only things I have had done are the recall on the steering knuckles and a complete engine rebuild when a bearing seized at about 10 hours use. Factory defect on a bearing and taken care of with no problems under the warrantee. Very pleased with the service from RMC in Tuckwila, Wa.

I have worked the heck out of this machine with bucket and blade on it and pulling a rough cut mower. Not a speed demon machine but so far very reliable.

The only problem my brother has had with his is the front mesh grill covering the radiator vibrated at certain speeds. It seemed that when the motor was within a certain RPM range, the hormonic frequency was just right to make that mesh screen vibrate against the frame attachments. All he did was slightly bend the mesh outward and that fixed it.

As far as the comparison between the polaris sportsman 450 and the kawie 360 prairie, here is my take.

1. Price - the kawie will be probably about $400 less, at least it is around here.
2. Ride - the polaris 450 hands down.
3. Low End Power - the polaris has more although the 360 makes very good low end grunt.
4. Mid Range Power - the polaris has more. The 360 is still pretty good in the mid range.
5. Hi End Power - the polaris hands down. The 360 will taper off at about 3/4 throttle and the top speed is around 45mph.
6. Towing - both can tow pretty well, but the added weight and extra power of the 450 should win here.
7. Mudding - the polaris b/c of IRS although the 360 with mud tires does pretty good due to its lighter weight. Still, the ground clearance is the main issue.
8. Handling - the 360 might edge here.
9. Weight - the 360 is much lighter

Over all, both are great quads and I know from personal experience what the paririe 360 will do since my brother has an 04 model. But, if you can get the polaris 450 sportsman for about the same price or no more than about $300-$400 more, I would get the sportsman 450. Just my thoughts.

As tencubed I had the recall problem, which was fixed within 60days of notification. Other than that I have had no problems. I do ride it pretty hard on rocky and muddy terrain.

I like the diff lock feature of the 360. It has good low end power, I have pulled guys out of some pretty deep mud with no problems. I also tow a trailer around the house for my different projects and it work awsome. My friend plows with his and he said it is great, he has no chains on the factory tires either.

It is not a fast machine, but I personally do need to go 70mph through trails.

I would get the 360. I love mine. I have had just a few minimal probs but nothing bad. Just remember to use low gear as much as possible when mudding, pulling, climbing, etc and youll be fine. Ill be back with a link to a site were i wrote a review on a high milage section.
