Default lakota air filter

has anyone found a good way to replace the lakotas stock air box setup. i tried using a clamp-on filter directly on the carb but could never get it to run right. it would run fine for about 30 mins. then lose all power and barely run. i tried rejetting several times but could never get it. i swiched back to the old air box and it ran fine. i don't like the stock design of it though. its really goofy. has anyone tried something that has worked good?

I also tried a clamp on with no luck or gain in performance and ended up with my stock box again.........what i did was took the snorkel tube off my stock box and i put some of those UNI filter inserts into the top of that 2nd box that is around the shock and it deffinatly gave it some more air.

thats a good idea. i just sent my top end to CWR to get some work done on it. its going to get the .040 over bore 11:1 compresion race piston, .420 lift cam, spring kit and new valves. so when i get it back together i'll give that a try.

So you still used your stock airbox where the filter is, along with the inserts? Because i'm wondering if you buy two of those UNI filter kits, and put the all on the second air box, and close the opening, would it have enough air?
