Default Need help! Kawasaki 250 Bayou

I have a new Kawasaki 250 Bayou ATV, had it for about 2 weeks and was wondering if anybody knows how long the drain hose should be? The drain hose on this one flips on the drive shaft rubber boot and gets gas all over it. The air filter also has gas all over it. It seems like at times the gas cap holds pressure in the tank because when you open it you can hear the pressure release. Is this normal with Kawasaki ATVs?

Try to realign your drain hose and ckeck your vent line to see if it is plugged. GOOD LUCK ! ! !

If your 250 runs fine, the length of the drain hoses don't matter. Just make sure they point toward the ground. However, you said the air filter is soaked with gas which may indicate your check valve on the fuel tank vent system is clogged or the check valve is installed backward. Another possibility is that you may be running the quad with choke ON or the choke lever is at OFF position but the choke plunger is sticking and it's allowing extra fuel in. The term choke is mis-leading in your bike because there is no choke plate to choke the carb. It is actually an fuel enrichener. So, check the choke plunger at the top of the carb for any sticking.
Hey, it's only 2 weeks old! Take it to the dealer you bought from.
