07 BF650i Smokes and won't go over 50mph
 

My buddy picked up his 650i last night. Drove it around and it smokes like freight train. When you drive it down the road it won't go over 50mph. When you hit 50mph its like its out of gas or into a rev limiter. Its got 6 miles on it. Anybody else have this problem?? Its 07 BF650i. Thanx for any info.

not me. mine runs like a champ. did you guys check the oil level? if too full the crankcase vent will puke oil into the airbox, and from there the carb sucks it in...

Sounds like maybe the choke is stuck, making it run real rich, but if he only had it one day, and it is an 07, then I wouldn't touch it, take it back to the dealer, it is under warranty, let them fix it, if you mess with it, they will try and pin it on you. Make the most of the warranty while you have it. Let us know what the problem was when it's fixed.

We'll have to check the oil, this is the second time somebody has mentioned that. Hope that is the problem. Wonder whats making it cut out at 50mph??
