where a good place to buy a outside (wheelside) rear cv joint? dealer says have to buy whole shaft.

eBay. #CvK405k the rear outside cv joint, boot, bands, and grease. I had the same problem. The dealer wanted 425.00 for the axle. You can find the joint on ebay from like 79.99 and up...

does thatcome w/ the inners like the cage and ball bearing as well as what you see inthe pic? thanks

that is a complete joint. It has the bearings and cage already installed... All you have to do is put the little end of the boot on the axle, and band it down... Pack the inside of the joint with the supplied grease, and put the remainder in the boot. Put the joint on, tap it with a hammer (plastic) until it snaps into place.. Bleed the air out of the boot and then band the other end of the boot to the cv joint. Then you're done. I've done it twice so far, and depending upon you mechanical ability it'll take you about an hour or more. The hardest part is getting that damn axle nut off. It is torqued on at 195lbs!!! You'll probably need to use an impact wrench, I couldn't get it off any other way. Well I didn't get one off another way, but I cut the axle nut off [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] I like the factory axles nuts better than the ones supplied with the kit, so if you can try to save it. The nut from kawasaki is 11 bux!
