05 Brute 750 (no power after idle)
#1
Was fine 5 months ago. I took it out and it idles but has NO power after idle and sputters like only running on 1 cylinder. I drained the tank, put in fresh fuel, changed the plugs. I am guessing the old fuel did a job on the carbs. Anyone else have this problem? How can I fix it? Will running it clear out the carbs or maybe spraying carb clean directly into the carbs while its running, will that help or do I have to take the carbs ALL APART?

Taking carbs ALL APART would be too much work. I had a good luck using Chevron brand Techron injector/carb cleaner (mixing into fuel tank) to clean out the carb on my street bike that I only ride a couple of times a year. Then I used Stabil before storage and no more problem since.
But are you sure it is the dirty carb problem? How is the engine cranking when starting? Check the spark and cyl compression, just to make sure.

I have the same problem with my 750 Brute. It acts like it's starved for gas. I have gone through all the basic things to check with no luck. I dread the thought of having to take it to the dealer but I not sure what else to do. It acts like it in limp mode from a bad belt but thats already been changed.

I have the same problem with my 03 Prarie 650. Sometimes, I can get ready to take a ride, go out and statr it and it acts like it's only running on 1 cylinder. It's done it so many times, all I do is turn the ignition off, turn it back on and start it up. I keep doing that until the other cylinder clicks in. It always works for me doing it thataway. Sometimes I have to wait a minute or 2 to turn the ignition back on and start it back up.

If you don't ride often, like either every weekend or every 2-weeks, then add the Fuel Stabilzer to your Full fresh (gas) tanks, run the VTwin Motor a bit too after adding the stabilzer, to allow the stabilzer to get to the Carbs.
Todays Gasoline's break down quicker than many yrs ago, could be all the additives they add to the fuel. The Stabilzer will keep your Gas from breaking down, no-more BAD gas oder either, your VTwin or any Motor will love you for it. A correctly treated Gas Tank with Fuel Stabilzer added will last 1 year. Can be found anywhere these days, like Wal-marts.

Well, I am now in the same position you are in. Pulled the atv out after 4 months of storage and it now has a top speed of 32 mph. I have also drained the gas and put in new and drove it with little to no improvement. I do believe the gas smelled bad. I am in the process of replacing the sparks plugs. Does anybody have any updates, before I start removing the carbs to clean them? My buddies 650 fueled and stored same place as mine is running fine.
