I have an 08 Brute IRS. Got a few questions about the wheels not fitting correctly before I upgrade. So I have heard that I will have to get specially made wheels to fit my 08, or make other modifactions to make them fit. Is there a manufcturer that makes the 08 Brute wheels to fit correctly straight out of the box. ITP, Kenda, Maxxis, Highlifter etc. While we are at it. Which tires would you all reccomend for average mud riding but mostly steep and rough terrain. Appreciate it.

ITP IS NOW MAKING WHEELS FOR IT. AND THE ITP TERRA CROSS TIRES ARE ONE OF THE BETTER TIRES THAT IV HEARD OF FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. THE DIFFERENCE ON THE NEW BRUTE IS THAT THEY WENT TO A HUB CENTRIC WHEEL INSTEAD OF A LUG CENTRIC WHEEL. AND THE LITTLE RIB ON THE HUB DOESNT LET ANY OF THE TRADITIONAL SIZE WHEELS WORK, THE CENTER HOLE IS TOO SMALL ON THE WHEEL TO FIT OVER THE TABS. ALOT OF GUYS ARE SIMPLY GRINDING OFF THE SMALL TABS ON THE HUBS AND THEN USING THE OLDER STYLE WHEEL. I HAD MINE MACHINED OFF FOR $50 AT MY LOCAL MACHINE SHOP. WORKED GREAT.

I went with the ITP SS112 in a 12" wheel and the Terracross in a 26'" size. I do about the same type of terrain you do. I haven't had a chance to do a lot of trail riding with these yet. They power slide nice on the gravel roads around here, and had no trouble going through approx. 12" of snow.
