We have a 2008 Brute 750 at work. It has 33 miles on it and we have already gone through a tank and a half of fuel. There is no way that this is "normal"!?!? If you do the math, that roughly equates to about 4.5 mpg. A have a few questions.

1) Is this anywhere close to right?
2) Where could the fuel be going? Haven't noticed any leaks! I'm 95% sure that nobody is stealing it.
3) How accurate is the fuel gauge? I own a Polaris and the gauge is not very accurate at all.

My carbed '05 750 gets around 12~14 mpg depending how I ride, but mostly light trail riding in 2WD most of time in H range - no towing. I use 4WD and L gear only when needed.

The 1st hundred or so miles the BF will use some fuel, mine has settle down to around 16mpg using a mixture of riding.
The fuel gauge does lie, when mine is on the last bar and flashing I can still get almost 20 miles out of it.
The trick is refuelling, fill to the bottom of the fuel neck, it is easier to remove the white tube for refilling, comes out real easy, then pop it back in.

Recently did about 60 miles, 2 wheel drive, trail riding in Utah at about 7,000 to 10,000 feet elevation. Not a real hard ride but plenty of steep hills and fire roads. It showed two bars left on the fuel gage. Used 3 1/2 gallons so thats about 17 MPG.

It sounds like you've got a problem although I have no idea what it could be. As far as accuracy, my Brute force fuel gage seems accurate. The fuel gage in the Arctic Cat I have hasn't worked since the day I bought it new. Ive had it fixed but it will only work for a week or so.

If you get a repeat of that kind of milage I'd take it into the dealer.

It would depend on the riding you do... i can mow my lawn twice *4 acres* and go thru a tank of gas.... if it is very slow riding your mileage isnt going to be way up there.

I have a 08 bf 650sra.I have 30 miles on it and have gone thru a tank of gas already . Although it runs great. I hope it is just break in. My other 02 prairie 650 was not that bad on gas at all. Oh well we will see.

That's what I'm afraid of. We're a huge government institution and have 0 people here that has the job description of "keeper of the quads". Everyone I talk to has that "what you tellin' me for-ain't my job" mentality.

my brute is broke in and I get about a hundred miles out of a tank of gas! all kinds of riding, slow, fast, 4x4, low, high gear. there is no way that is right.

I don't think anyone here who owns a 750 thinks that is right.

It is <u>right</u> - but I know it's not <u>normal</u>. We have to log all of the fuel that goes in and I know the miles that we have put on it. We park it in an unconditioned space and only get her out about once every four or five day. Is it possible for that much fuel to evaporate or a moderate leak to go unnoticed. What should I have checked or what should I keep and eye on.
