Default 1991 Kawa KLF300 Carb help.....

I went to start my four wheeler today (1991 kawasaki klf 300 bayou)... its been about 2 months or so since i last rode it and when i went to start it it wouldnt start. i knew i wasnt getting any fuel so i put some more it in cause i noticed it was low. well when i was pouring fuel in it was comming right back out of a line on the carb. the line is attached to the carburator bowl at the bottom (this is where fuel was comming out of) the line was attached to the bowl and is about a good 9" in length and was comming out the other end. does anyone know where that line is supposed to attach or what it does????

Thanks

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR FLOAT IS STUCK OPEN BANG IT WITH THE END OF A SCREWDRIVER A FEW TIMES IF THAT DOESNT WORK WELL THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE CARB BOWL AND MOVE THE FLOAT MANUALY

You could try removing the fuel line at the petcock and blow compressed air (not to much pressure) into the carb. Ssometimes that will force the needle to unseat.

Default 1991 Kawa KLF300 Carb help.....

So would the float be stuck in the up or down position? why would a stuck float let fuel pour out of the bottom of the bowl through that line??? is the line just there for draining purposes??

Thanks for the input

Sorry I misread your post. You are right about the needle not closed because fuel is getting into the carb. There might be some trash not letting the needle seat. The float could be stuck in the down position. I have had pretty good luck by loosening the drain screw to empty the bowl and spraying carb cleaner into the fuel line to fill the bowl. I usually let it sit overnight before draining. Sometimes it will clean it enough to work and save removoing the carb.
