Why won't it start?
 

Hello all, I hope someone can help me out with this. I bought an '01 Bayou last July, and it ran great for the whole summer. In September I loaded it in my truck, and when I got it home it wouldn't start. At first it turned over, with the electric start, but it sounded almost as if it was out of gas. Checked it, lots of gas. Could smell the gas when I choked it. The pull start turned it over, but was really hard to pull. Now with the electric start, I get a loud clicking noise behind the seat. I changed the ignition switch, but the problem persists. Any ideas? Ignition module maybe? Would a faulty starter cause the electronic componenets to clatter like that? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

haha. ur gunna feel dumb but.
its just the battery.
the battery is dead. jus jump it off or buy a new battery.
it aint puttin out enough juice to turn over the starter.

Do you really think so? I had the battery booster on it when I was trying it. I'll see what the battery rom my other one does. If that works, I thank you.

if a new battery doesn't help could possibly be a bad starter solenoid it's located under the seat.

The starter solenoid was the first thing I replaced.
