2006 Prairie 700 questions

I'm having a problem getting the atv out of 4wd. Where should I start looking? I'm not near the ATV so I need a slew of info so I can work on it this weekend when I'll be able to work on it.

Also, looking to buy a spare drive belt. Part number 59011-0003, right? Are the aftermarket ebay belts ok?

Thanks!

Don't know anything about the belt drive Kawasaki models, but use aftermarket belts on Suzukis with no problems. Our supplier does sell good makes though, Gates etc.

As for the 4WD problem, check the fuse and if power is getting to the "actuator" when you engage/disengage 4WD.

Thank you. Any idea where that actuator is located? I'd like to check that too.

The actuator is located right on the diff. Listen to hear if it is operating. If not then an electrical issue, but if it is then you have a mechanical issue. You should consider a factory service manual, as that will be able to answer your question and help you solve your problems better than we can guess.

Check this site. I just added the Ultimate kit to my 04 700 and it works great. The cost is a little more than one actuator but no more electrical issues.

UPDATE: I went on a long and brutal trail ride last weekend, about 10-12 miles, and just before the end of my ride, it switched back into 2WD on it's own the switch was left on the 2WD mode. I was all excited, and then swapped it back into 4WD and then back into 2WD, but it was stuck in 4WD again. DAMMIT! I haven't had time to work on it I admit, but I have a feeling that this actuator just needs to be cleaned or something.
