KFX400 - won’t start

Hey folks, so I recently cleaned out the carb and replaced the jets with new factory ones on my 2003 400. The bike was having trouble idling prior to that but would run perfectly fine at 1/2 or WOT. I thought the jets may just be in rough shape. Got everything back together and the bike won’t start, not even sputtering. I’m not sure what to try next, has anyone had a similar issue before?

I am getting a spark with a new plug, so can’t be that.

Thanks!

Most likely you have got something wrong during the rebuild, all too easy to miss an O ring, or put something in the wrong way. Download a parts drawing if you haven't already got one, and check everything is in the right place, double check the holes in the new jets, you can get faulty new ones.

Thank you. I looked over everything again, everything is in its place. I only took the float bowl off and replaced the two jets on the bottom side. Didn’t re do the whole thing so didn’t deal with springs and such.

Just to make sure the new jest weren’t the issue I throttle old ones back in and still won’t start up :/

Did you put the float back in the right way up? That is a common mistake. Check you are getting fuel through into the bowl. It could be a pure coincidence that a fault came on while you were fixing the carb, but as you have a spark, the carb is the most likely culprit. Is the choke working properly? Have you overdone the choke, and wet the plug?
