The steering stem on my Tecate 4 has some free play up and down. I looked under the frame and it looks like there is a nut with a cotter pin through it that may need to be tightened but it will be a b!tch to get at. Is this how to get rid of the up and down play I have when picking up on the handlebars? It's not that big a deal but was just wondering.
Thanks.

hmmmm... my mojave has the same problem. It's a little play when you pull up and push down on the handlebars. it's not bad, but can get annoying. It'd be nice to fix it.. help? spanx

For Mojave's the only way to get rid of the play is to replace the bushing plate at the bottom of the shaft. $50 I don't know if the Tecate is the same setup.

thanks jeffksf... I checked out yer site. I was wondering how reliable your mojave is now that you've added all those aftermarket products on it. I'm planning on sending my engine in to FST and have heard some bad and some good about the outcome. Can you tell me a little about that since yer a "mojave expert" spanx
