i was wondering if anyone knows of any good preformance mods for a lakota. i mostly ride wooded trails and in the strip jobs i also go mudding i have surtrack tires they almost hit the battery so would spacers be a good investment.but i need a more top end without loosing the low end

I have a 1998 Lakota with a manual clutch kit, DG Pipe with SuperTrapp discs, UNI Filter, jet kit and Douglas 190's with Holeshots(they are 20x11x10 and they are about 1/4 inch from the battery and rub occasionally) I can easily keep up with a 300 EX with basically the same mods. It does great in mud, but i think it would do better with different tires.

Ask if you need to know more.

99 lakota douglas 190's, alltracks (rear) front pro's (front) IDS/2, K&N, Jet Kit, racks removed (saved ten pounds). I also had problems with the rear tires rubbing . I removed the battery, and holder and slotted the bolt hole by one quarter inch. hav'nt had a problem with rubbing since (clearance is about 3/8" to 7/16". i used aluminum tubeing to support the headlight mounting area( from the top of the bumper to the front fender support. i flattened the ends of the tubeing and drilled mounting holes

any other ?

I have that conversion on mine. It was like that when i bought it. Still uses the factory plates with heavy duty springs. They just took the automatic clutch part out and added the lever inside the case to move the clutch from another bike; converted the rear hand brake to the clutch lever. It also has the parking brake removed.
