When you guys installed your hitch (the factory 1 piece hitch) did you drain your
rear end oil? If you don't drain the oil and remove all the bolts will any fluid leak out? Will anything come apart? Did you take off the wheels? Thanks, |
Here it is in order:
1) No 2) No 3) No 4) No Unbolt The required bolts and install the hitch bracket. Tighten the bolts and go with it. |
1. No, but I think it is a good idea. I changed it a week later.
2. Not enough leaked to need to top it off. No worry. 3. The side covers can easily come off if you aren't careful, but no biggy. 4. Heck no. |
I'm starting to get patriotic( Oh Canada...) LOL
Just a poke in the ribs , guys. |
No you do not have to drain it but since your there and the hitchmacks everything a little covered why not go ahead and change it. You'll loose about a teaspoon full of fluid but not biggy. Be careful the left side can spin around on you because you have to take all the bolts out of the cover on that side. Other than that the hitch is a little tricky but a nice tight fit.
By tricky you would think slide striaght on but a little tilt then forward and your there. Have fun and enjoy. |
I did not lose a drop of oil, it was very cold though, and the oil was probably thick.
