HELP its snowing and I'm stuck, wont run!!

Ok when I put my grips on I accidentally left them on and drained the battery dead. When I charged the battery back up the belt light was flashing. Machine only has 60 miles on it so it probably is not really a bad belt. Of course I found out that the damn thing does not run well with the light flashing. Should I just reset the light as per NYROCK's instruction list?

Why would the battery draining do this?

Yes, follow those instructions. Since you probably haven't tripped the belt, resetting is probably the only thing.

This is the first time I have heard this happen.

Mostly, when the belt trips the switch, you flip it back and you are fine. Rarely is the reset procedure required. Your case seems to be the rarest.

Those instructions need to be printed out and carried with you in the ATV. It is rare, but someone needed them on the trail and he was a long way from a computer.

Well I did it and everything went back to normal.

Funny thing, I did not do anything to the switch. Mostly because I had no idea there was one or where to find it! Where is the switch and should I do anything to it given everything is working properly?

Thanks so much Nyroc, your tech section saved me!

The switch is the rectangular black box on top of the cvt cover. The tripper lever is a little bar thingy just above the belt, but you never see it near the belt.

Some people that have gotten phantom trips of the switch have permanently connected the wires together and disconnected the switch. You want to make sure you can put it back in case you sell it.
