Default Font Shocks Squeaking on P650

Hey everyone,

I'm still enjoying my new P650. I've already got 440km's in a week in a half. This thing is just a blast to drive. Last night I went out for a little ride and noticed that the front of the bike starting squeaking a bit. Everytime I hit a bump, the front end would squeak and squeak. Tonight I went for another drive and noticed that this was still happening. When I got home I compressed the front of the bike up and down and you could hear it squeak. It almost seems like the shocks are the cause of the squeaking. Both shocks seem to be doing it. Is this normal? I know it's cold up here, but it never did it before and yesterday and today have been the mildest days since I've had the bike. Just wondering if anyone is experiencing the same problem.

Thanks

Dan

I've been thinking of changing them next fall when I start plowing snow. I just don't think that they should squeak after a week and a half or ridding. Maybe this is totally normal.

Mine did this to the first few times out. It will go away. I don't think it's the shocks, I think it's the rubber bushings on the front end.

check your front bolts on your brakes mine were missing and making a racket. also check around your black plastic splash gaurds up front. I also get noise from the struts and steering nothing stays around too long. Sometimes the plastic on the struts get caught, if this happens it no biggy but get them replaced where you bike is so new. A few scrape marks are ok but a lot will get worse later.

if its the same noise i'm thinking of,mine does it too. i've just learned to ignore it. it even happens when you just climb on it doesnt it? thats when mine is the most noticable. i just figured that its no biggie!!!! actually it just sounds like the shocks are dry or something.

That's exactly how it sounds. If I just put my feet on the floor board, you hear the squeak. I know it's nothing major, but I don't think that a 2 week old bike should be doing that. Hopefully it will go away. I got the same impression about the dry shock. Almost sounds that way.
