Dinili Diamondback 50CC carb issues
I was recently given a 2004 Dinili Diamondback 50cc, which I planned to use for my 5 year old son. The guy who gave it to me said it sat up 3 or 4 years and had a newer carb installed before it was parked. When I brought it home, there was no gas in the tank or carb. I disassembled the carb and cleaned it in and out with carb cleaner, it appeared to be new. I was able to get it running but it smoked and did not idle at all. When I poured gas in the tank I had a small leak on the bowl drain. It ended up having a crack from being over tightened. I applied some JB weld to the inner and outer area of the bowl drain and it not leaking.
This past weekend I brought the 4 wheeler to my dad's land and we could not get it to run more than 5 minutes at a time. It has a good spark plug, we checked the fire several times. It is getting plenty of fuel, we changed the fuel filter and it is free flowing. The air filter is trashed but we tried to start it with no air filter and it still would not start. We even tried spraying starting fluid straight into the carb and it would not start. I tried adjusting the air/idle screws and it was hardly giving us any difference in the way the engine was running. The carb is new and clean, but I am wondering if it a cheap, bad one. It is one with the electric choke. Should I look for a different choke with a manual choke? Any suggestions on anything else to try. I have rebuilt the carb on my jeep and it never gave me problems like this like one has. |

Usually 90+ for compression.
As you prolly read, the elec choke carbs aren't very dependable. Most swap to a hand choke carb. |
