Issue with Kasea 50cc Mini (think it's a carb issue)
Hi all, I bought my son a Kasea Skyhawk 50cc Mini. It was in a barn for at least 5 years. According to the seller it had never been used, Based on the tires and undercarrage as well as the shocks still being wrapped in plastic i believe him. The date of MFG is 2004.
I added gas, 2stroke oil and hooked up a battery. I got it to start but it bogged down as soon as it got warm and if i throttle it it'd die. Almost felt like it had a choke. I couldn't find a choke so i figured maybe it wasn't getting enough gas so i did something stupid and added a little compressed air to the fuel tank thinking it'd force more gas through the carb  Now there's exhaust or compression that is sputtering out of the fuel tank. I filled it almost to the top and when i throttle the quad it start spraying fuel out of the cap. Still bogs down when warm so no change there. I figure maybe i screwed something up in the carb that letting air back up the fuel line into the tank? Any advice would be really appreciated. |
Welcome to the forums. :)
I'd start with a good carb cleaning. You made it flood. Pull the plug, cover the hole with a rag, make sure the spark plug cap is away from the area, spin it over till the fuel is out. Apply full throttle till it starts and cleans out. |
