TRexTommy's son races a DRR50 in the GNC MX and TT series... he was #2 in in both series in the Stock 0-50cc 4-8yo class this year.

The DRR is really good int eh stock class because it has one of the best factory exhaust systems out there... it actually has a tuned expansion chamber exhaust rather than a skinny pipe to the muffler.

There's support for both out there. Since you already have teh DRR, I'd stick with it and build it up.

i have a drr90 my son races against raptors and lts . he is 5 .it out runs both hands down in the 9 to 12 yr olds. he races the drr50 at AMA events and i have no complaints about it at all. i agree if you have a drr just build it up , if you are looking for more for the little guy

thanks for your input i really appreciate it i'll stick with the drr i talked to a dealer that sells both the drr & lt & he said he has several drrs in the shop sitting waiting on parts but hasn't had any lts in for anything thats why i was wondering if i made a bad choice with the drr. i'll believe you guys before a dealer they usually just try to make a sale instead of telling you the truth thanks again andy

Although the LT-A50 is a great starter quad, that's all it is.

Certainly not a good platform to start from for racing, and there's almost no hop-up stuff out there anyway.

As my dumb butt continues to modify my son's LT-A50.... arrugh

i've only had one problem with my drr in over a year, he broke the chain adjuster " it waz my oldest sons falt tho . he cross threaded the bolt and didnt tell no one , well i found out lol....by the way it took two days for my dealer to get it in. there is a parts garunty on the web page, if any part is one back order its free when it comes in. i will bring this up if it ever happens to me. one of the main wherhouses is in the clevlend ohio area .

We have raced the DRR 50 since March. We choose it because of the pipe and suspension. The DRR is a superior machine to the LT50. No matter how you slice it. That is not to say that a LT can't be made to run fast. It just takes alot more work to do so. Also, The DRR and other Tiawan machines have alot more performance parts available to you. If you are racing somewhere that the stock pipe can be changed, then you have lost the big advantage the DRR had over the other Tiawan bikes. By the way, in the Nationals this year.
50 stock class MX-
20 motos, DRR won 9, LEM won 11.
50 stock class TT-
12 motos, DRR won 10, Polaris won 2.
DRR took 1st in TT's and 2nd in MX.
