I have narrowed my choice to these two quads. What' are your pro and cons of the two?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

For the Pred-90, here's some info...
- By far, lots of suspension travel (front & back).
- Quiet sounding stock muffler (good if driving around horses).
- Factory wide back tires.
- Full running boards
- Doesn't come with a factory light
- In deep mud, its brake drums may fill with mud. For our "deep mud" riding, we have to wash the mud out of its front & back hubs. If you do more dry land then ours, this is NOT a concern.
- Its chain is too thin for its weight. Lots of chain stretching during its break in period.
- Bottom end power and top end speed is same as the E-Ton 90.
- '04 comes with a spring loaded chain tensioner. '03 doesn't. To install a spring loaded chain tensioner on '03 brand, I'd recommend the one from HPD.
- '04 comes with a horn (as per its web site), the '03 doesn't have a horn.

- Pred-90 is wider then Viper 90.
- Pred-90 is heavier then Viper 90.
- Pred-90 has higher seat then the Viper 90.
- Viper 90 has hydrolic back disc brake.
- Viper 90 has thicker chain (with NO factory spring loaded chain tensioner)
- Viper 90 has factory horn.
- Pred-90 is usually more expensive then the E-Ton brand.

Each have their pros and cons. With your future unit, will you be racing only, trail riding only, sand dunes, etc???? By knowing how you'll be using it, experienced readers with both brands could give you more focused feedback.

Also, which does your kid like the best??? Just like my wife, I'd NEVER purchase something this important without my son helping me with the investigation, comparison and final section process.

Thanks for the feedback. Lots of good info there. My son will not be racing and it will be used mainly in the desert and some in the dunes.
I have to wonder if both of these bikes will last a couple years without known major problems

Unlike some on this forum, I'm NOT brand specific. To me, each mini has their pros & cons and depending upon your unique riding conditions, some are designed better for certain riding conditions.

As a suggestion, have an indepth look at the E-Ton Viper 90. It's a smaller frame unit, high suspension is NOT mandatory for your sand based riding, it comes with a factory light, it has a thicker chain (which sand loves to chew up), and it has hydrolic brakes. Depending upon the mushiness of your sand, consider widening the front end with +2 A-Arms (for more quick turn stability) and replace general back tires with wider rims, winder turf tires, or even good quality Sand Paddles. To me, the Pred-90 factory design is made more for rough trail riding. Something to think about "from an '03 Pred-90" owner...

I have a Viper 90 buddy. The only things he wished were better on his unit is: more front suspension, wider front A-Arms and less pull spring on its Thumb Control lever. Other then these minor items (for his unique riding conditions), his family loves their Viper 90.

The Pred-90 is an excellent unit for hard ground type riding. Great suspension for those "wild bumps". Depending upon the size of your kid(s), it is a great strarter bike with its Thumb Control screw throttle screw. To me, its brake hubs don't like deep "mushy" mud very well.

For your specific region, I'm NOT too sure of the OTD price. I heard in the US, prices have a dramatic range from state to state. Shop around your region and investigate "out of region" prices plus shipping cost differences.

I finally made up my mind and bought the E-Ton 90. It's pretty sweet and the kids love it. Let's see how it holds up.
