Rebulding top end on sons lt 80 need to know cc's
I was just curious how you would figure out the cc's on my sons 80 after the bigger piston was installed, its a wiseco(sorry jack) 2028cd-51.50 mm. It is still the stock crank and rod. Also whats the best way to break the motor in without siezing up the piston?

the best way is to use the oem pistons theyneed no break in and we have never had a problem.

Yeah I heard that but I was told by the guy at the shop that I had to go with a wiseco because it is too large for a factory piston

Yes the 51.5 has to be a Weisco. Stock to 51mm.
If it's still apart, take coarse sandpaper and rough up below the ring gaps. That should help.Don't be afraid, get agressive. 51.5 x 51.5 x .7854 x 42=87.489cc's. Hot and cold it a few times. Then just don't sustain a high rpm for a lil while. Anyone else getting an error? I replied to this yesterday and got an error page. Apparently it didn't post. |

Thanks Jack, yes I have been getting the errors for the last 3 days off and on. As for sanding its too late, I already went ahead and installed the head yesterday and ran into the float or something sticking on the carb, and it filled up the crank case I think. So I Took off the carb(20mm) and the needle doesn't seem to be seating. Boy those 20 mm carbs are a pain to take off and put on, not much clearance.
Emeraldiselatv if I knew how to figure out the cc's I would not have asked, BUT THANKS FOR YOUR OPINION AS I'LL BE SURE TO ROUND FILE IT! Why respond if you have nothing to offer? this is a kids quad forum where parents can ask experts like jack what to do. |
