buying a new atv. need advice
#1
i have a 6 year old girl (weighs about 60 lbs) and a 4 year old boy (weighs about 40 lbs) and i'd like to buy them their first atvs. i am not very mechanical so i don't want to have to do much servicing myself. most of the dealers in my area carry suzuki, yamaha, bombadier, honda, kawasaki but i'm not sure if i should be looking at one of these versus something from a site like raceway atv. i'm also not sure whether to get a 50 or 90. any input is appreciated.

If you dont want to do any wrenching and also do not want to pay the money for one of the big 4 then the Desert Cat is the way to go. This is as close to the big 4 as they come. Very nice reliable atv. Although I think the 4yo would be too small for an atv it would be perfect for your older one. For thier first atv I would get them the 50 desert cat. It has plenty of power and room to grow. At the very least call Raceway and talk to John. Tell him that 2manytoys from atv connection recommended him. He is a great guy and will help you out even if you did not buy from him.

If you aren't very mechanical, your first priority should be a good local dealership. Personally, I would not put a 4 year old on a motorized vehicle. But if I was going to, it would be a micro 50 similar in size to the Suzuki or Kawasaki 50. Depending on your local laws, I would go ahead and buy a 80+cc for the 6 year old. Sticking to your list, I would want the Honda 90 but most 6 year old are a little small. Be sure to have her sit on them before buying (and don't mention their ages or say it's for the 12 year old nephew).
