Default 2005 AC 50cc Speed limiter

I need some help getting my daughters AC 50 2 stroke to go faster. I am new to the quad world so I'm still learning about them. Anyway I have removed the spacer from the variator and the throttle screw is backed out. It will go about 13mph now. I have read some threads about a rev limiter. From what I can tell the AC 90 have a limiter in the carb. Does anyone know if the 50's do?. I know the tires are small and the sprocket is big, does anyone have a recommedation on a good combo? Are there any exhaust resrtictors in place. Any help would be greatly appreciated, My 10yr old daughter keeps asking everday if I've made it go faster yet. She was used to riding her SunL 50 which was considerable faster.

I believe the carb spacer was present in the 2-stroker so yours may have it. My sons 05 90 is a 4-stroke and it did not have it. Pull the slide out of the top of the carb and you should be able to see if it has one. Someone correct me if I m wrong.

Thanks for the help. I will check it tonight. Any Ideas on the exhaust resrtictor whether or not one is present?

No carb spacer in the 2005. I checked the end of the tail pipe for a restrictor and only saw a spark arrestor. Any more Ideas?

There was a restricter in the intake tube for the air filter. Ours is an 04 Cat.Check the exhaust. Where the expansion chamber connects to the pipe, there was a washer there also. Now on the wheels and sprockets. I went with alum wheels and 18" Carlisle Snowhogs. The Alum wheels are lighter and take less HP to turn over. Also get rid of the 50t rear sprocket. I have a 28t,30t,35t sprockets. They all work great. I just choose the right sprocket for the track. You also have a limiting cdi. I got the no rev malossi cdi and pro design kill switch from Hetrick racing for like $150.

If you only want 1 sprocket I'd go with the 28t. It still pulls hills great. A clutch kit from Hetrick really wakes this little mini up,

Thanks for the info. I had already looked for a exhaust restrictor between the head and pipe and there wasn't one I didn't think about where you suggested. I'll check it out. Can you help a little more with the tires and wheels. I'm new to ATVs so I'm unsure on wheel bolt patterns and etc. Which brand and size of wheels did you use 7", 8" etc. I see wheel and tire kits in magazines but I'm not sure which ones will fit the Arctic cat. How wide are your Tires? I have ordered a rev limiter that is adjustable from 6K to 12K rpm. My daughter is a newer rider so I thought that would give me some flexibility. I'm thinking about a 35 tooth sprocket. since we live in a hilly area. I'm looking forward to making some changes and getting this little guy moving! Thanks very much for your help!

P.S. For others who might read this. I also checked the carb on the 2005 Arctic cat for a restrictor and there was none. So the restrictions for this unit would seem to only be the Spacer in the variator, the throttle screw, the cdi (with built in rev limiter ) and the tire and spocket combo.
