SEADAWG'S CHINESE INSPECTION SQUAD II

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Christmas is past us now...lets see some reviews on your new quads/bikes and the people you bought them from. Lets go, great quads, average....good and bad in every product. Come on...I want to be the nice guys. I like hearing about them, so when I'm in the woods and see them, I can ask the right questions and even ride them. Us lifer riders are good about enthusiast testing SEADAWG

Also, no personal shots....it only makes me blush

OK, heres one i posted in the coolsport thread

Although the quad is neat looking. my problems are mostly shipping related. I havent rried to start the 2nd one yet. The first one ran OK after I got it going but crapped out xmas morning. Heres the post:

Hi I bought 2 of the coolsport mud monster 110cc... Although they are neat looking I had nothing but trouble with the shipping, defective parts and missing parts. One of the Atvs got left in Salt lake city. I received the other one 2 days before Xmas shipped upside down with oil all over everything and impregnated into the seat. It had a cracked gas tank and intermit spark... needless to say it wasn't much fun for the grandkids xmas morning...

The other one that got left in Salt Lake City arrived today. The packing was completely destroyed and the cardboard box was just sitting over the top of thr ATV. Upon further inspection I found there was no battery, probably fell out along the way somewhere. I have not even tried to start it yet.

I think they came from Lightning ATV in houston TX. I ordered them from buyatvsonline.com and R+L Carriers was the shipping Co.(I guess you could call them shippers)

I finially got ahold of the main guy at buyatvsonline.com and his reply to my problem was wipe it down and you'll be good to go. I know I wont get any satifaction from shippers or the atv dealer and I cant even get the first atv started again (no spark) I dont know if one of the crappy interlocks is bad or the sparkplug died or the cdi or what is wrong. Im not even sure the spark plug listed in the terrible manual are right or letters transposed (AT7C) or is it (A7TC) and A7RTC... On ebay they say a NGK C7HSA , 4549, 4629 will work... which one/ones I have no idea.

I don't mind doing some wrenching, I knew I would have to do that , but its sure been one big pain in the $@# so far. It sure would be nice to have a electrical diagram of the several safety interlocks. I had to pull the lanyard one off and manually push the button in to get spark on the first one, now that doesnt work even.. Im not going to pay to have them shipped back so I probably cut the lanyard pull safety swich off and wire nut the wires together and keep looking for no spark problem... How do you tell if its the coil or CDI though??

RON

Well the wife has not told me "I told you we should have bought that Grizzly 80" yet, But with my luck I'm sure it will come up... I dont know if I just had bad luck or if this happens all the time.

Any good luck bad luck stories? help with the spark? I know a little about engines just not sure how to pin down the bad part

I bought my son the Redcat MPX 90 for christmas. So far he has loved it me. After purchase me and my dad broke down and cleaned the carb still had trouble getting it to start and then dad remembered that on his old dirt bikes you have to turn the fuel valve to off or it was very hard to start the next morning all if this took place before christmas morning so has far as my son is concerned Santa did great. My only problems with the Redcat is 14 tooth sproket should be a 12 from the factory and the stupid seat is bolted on. Redcat seems to have great parts support. I ordered an 11 tooth front sproket which should be here by friday possibly tomorrow. If I had it to do over I probably would have gotten a 50 but in a year I would have regretted that.

All,
These are the stories we/I need to know. But, please be clear on these...we need to know the following:

*Where you either live or purchased the quad/bike
*The price you paid
* The dealers name
* Who, what, when and (where as discussed) you talk to for help

You don't have to settle for sh____t! One thing we all have to do...and I blew it last year badly was the emotional part. Lets keep it professional and above reproach....let us hammer them for screwing you. We will have your backs. Keep the faith. SEADAWG

Redcat 70

paid $650
live in Steubenville Ohio
bought in Austintown Ohio from a cop that seems to be a wannabe dealer.
owned it for 8 days. worked on it for 8 days. got lucky to get my money back.

The guy gave me my money back but was a jerk about it. I got the money so didn't care but he told me to get the f#%* off of his property after almost throwing my money at me. I only bought it because he said he never has a problem and I could bring it back if I was not happy.

Sir,
Great info and we'll see if he tries this more. We got your back. Anyway, you have your money and that is the biggest thing. Right now, I have to recommend your wife's idea of the Big 4...I think she said Grizzley. That is the safest bet....if you go Chinese, go Raceway for now or see if there is another dealer locally that is good. If they are not a home run hitter, go withe Raceway. Good luck and Happy New Year. SEADAWG

I purchased a Cool Sport 'Mudcat" from HighRPMracer.com It cost $499 and was delivered promptly. Only problem was (and i guess it was a problem) they sent a "Bobcat" which is a $100 more expensive bike on their site. The battery (piece of junk) caused starting problems briefly (Learned to attach a 2 amp trickle charger to get consistent spark). Lastly, everything was ok in shipping except the bumper didn't make the trip to Brooklet, Ga.

My daughter loves it and it performs quite well inspite of the throttle limiter being screwed all the way in!

They sending you a bumper...I would say battery, but you'd be getting another shi____y battery How is there service after the sale? Or, where they like when I dealed with almostfreeatvs and you got it in the mail...now shut up? SEADAWG

I'm in the process of trying to get the bumper. However, I don't like my chances. They think it's the shippers fault. Specially since R&L carriers called the day after delivery to inquire about our ATV. Seems they lost one on that particular day!
