ok guys.... go easy on me.... 2 110's....

bought 2 110's (raceway labels it a tonga 110)..... bought from a dealer 400 miles away (friend of a friend of a friend), so... no service after the sale..... which i knew going into it.

1st one runs great, 2nd one is a GIANT nightmare.

Issues with the atv:

** disclaimer.... i grabbed what i thought was an unused 1 gallon gas container..... filled from my 5 gallon container, and figured out later that the unused 1 gallon had a 'dried mixture' of oil and gas previously in it.... so after trying to start the atv... and fouling many plugs.... i drained the tank twice, and keep rotating out the plugs....***

1. atv won't stay running when i lower the choke. starts good, and once warmed, when i lower the choke, rpms increase, then atv dies when i lower all the way.

--- took carb apart and 'cleaned' what i could... didn't take the pin out to access the pilot jet though.

2. burned up the starter solenoid..... found out really quickly (thanks 2manytoys) that you shouldn't hold the starter for longer than 5 secs.... AND WAITING AT LEAST 15 secs before trying to start again..... (replaced solenoid)

3. MELTED a ground wire going from the starter to the 'ground cluster'.... re-soldered the cluster and replaced wire.

4. MELTED the green wire coming out of the engine to its 'connector' on the left hand side of the atv, above the engine. replaced wire.

5. reversed the tubing from the gas tank, fuel filter, into carb.... looks to be installed in reverse from the other atv.

Now that i have bored you with the details.....

I need help with the carb/ choke situation.

I haven't adjusted the 'pin' as 2manytoys suggested, since the other atv runs fine. But assuming it is correct may be my ignorance.

this carb has 2 adjustments correct..... on the right side of the atv, air mixture and fuel mixture?

this forum has been a big help!

thanks in advance for the the advice.

cheappurchase, Im wondering what melted those 2 wires? Heat from a exhaust etc??? Or melted down due to a load? The carb probubly has a fuel mixture screw and a idle screw.

Other than that it sounds carb related and I would try cleaning it first.

Sir,
We have all been there. Although it may not be a Raceway quad, I'm sure John will help you on this quad. Will your dealer take it back? This is why we are Raceway fans...it is not the good quads, it is the service after the sale. Regardless, it may cost you a few bucks to get it going, but it will be less frustrating.

Also, post pictures of the quad so we can compare it. They all have many labels...pictures are worth a thousand words

If you would like to give me a call tomorrow when you are with the ATV we can try to fool with the carb adjustments together and see if we have luck.
